OK, this one's going to be rather silly, but so far this week I've learned several new things, some wacky others not so much:
Sometimes people don't understand that you have to drive slow when it rains even a little bit... especially when it's been drought the past couple of months. All that dust and a little rain makes for a slippery situation.
You have to make sure to take breaks for a breather if you are shooting wrecks where diesel's been spilled. This is regardless if it's been hosed down. And, if you shoot several, be ready for the firefighters to kid with you about how many times you go out on calls. If you must know, this did happen to me. Additionally, to the above about diesel and the next day shooting swimming pics in a heated natatorium, horseradish sauce on your sandwiches makes a good restorative for your sense of smell.
Don't trust meteorologists's forecasts. They're almost always wrong. Ex. Today, they said it'd get to the 40s by 4 p.m. At 9 a.m., it's almost freezing (39).
Just take it cool and let problems outside of work and family slide unless they are necessary worries (health in particular)
Feel free to add your own lessons learned here.

If you're on assignment, put your keys on one of those wristband key holders and put on your wrist. That way you don't have to pay $25 to get your car unlocked while you're on assignment.
Dr Pepper will cure a foul mood.
Sometimes, bartering at craft fairs will be successful. This one, I always bring a few pieces of my jewelry and if they like it, sometimes I can barter a trade. Doesn't always work, but sometimes it does because it's win-win for both. And... in the case of this past Saturday, I'm going to visit her booth again when she returns in March for another festival.
Never fails that it gets colder when you have to go do chores or a project.
